Sometimes it's hard to tell those you love exactly how you feel...

We hope these notes/stories written to family and friends from Behcet's Sufferers will help bring a slight understanding about the lives we live, the fears we face, and how we need your constant support to help us go on - day by day.

If you know someone with Behcet's, please read through these pages...they could be speaking to you right now.

Trying to live with Behcets

Linda Kaempf
For years I had gone to doctors and coming up with you have an autoimmune disease but we don't know what. Finally, after a gastric hemmorage, the GI doctor said I think it is Behcets. I am lucky to have found Dr Yazici at NYU and he diagnoised me and now working on getting it under control. Some days I feel so exhausted and stricken with pain. I have month ulcers, sores on legs and arms at different times. Joint pain, skin pain, stomach pain, I had neuropathy but that is under control for the moment. This has put me out of work and I hope and pray to get it under control to return to the job market again. My memory has also been affected. People can't understand as I don't look sick.Date Created: 10/20/2009
